Butts the view that interpretive ideas are more relevant than structural theories to get understanding modern societies Interpretivist sociologists might be more relevant for understanding the workings of modern societies, which propagate individualism and flexibility of choice a lot more than societies before. Other schools of thought, namely structuralism, disagree and challenge this view simply by stating that their own hypotheses are still significant and criticising interpretivism. The interpretivist theory takes a different stance to structuralists in looking at world. Interpretive or perhaps social action perspectives analyze smaller organizations within contemporary society and in contrast to structuralism, are concerned with the very subjective states of people. Symbolic interactionism, a subset of interpretivist sociology, emphasizes the importance of individual roles that contribute to individual interaction. The purpose of interpretive sociology is to understand the meaning at the rear of actions in a social framework through a thought of a subject's unique perspective; in addition , just how an individual's action affects world as a whole. As opposed to structuralism, it ascertains that the individual has free is going to and is not merely controlled by a society from where it is individual.
